ED RN Job in Corpus Christi, TX

Join Bay Area Medical Center's 16-bed emergency department as a travel RN on a 13-week assignment. You'll work the night shift, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three days per week at $1,661 weekly pay, starting September 7, 2026.

Your Role

You will care for patients across all acuity levels in a fast-paced ED environment. Your responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, IV insertion, lab draws, wound care, splinting, and documentation. You'll manage a patient ratio of 1:4 for ESI 4 & 5 patients, with the possibility of up to 6 patients during peak volume. The department includes 8 hall chairs in addition to traditional beds.

Team Structure

On night shift, you'll work alongside one charge nurse, one triage nurse, 4–5 floor nurses (including one mid-shift), one unit secretary (7 p.m. to midnight), and one tech. Mandatory shift huddles occur at 7 p.m. unless you're providing critical care.

Equipment & Systems

You will use Meditech EMR with automated vital sign integration, cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, tonopen, and standard emergency equipment.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Level II or Level III trauma experience
• Greater than two years of emergency department experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and either ENPC or PALS
• EMTALA training required
• Preferred certifications: CEN, TCRN, or CPI

Facility Information

Bay Area Medical Center is a Level II or III trauma facility. Dress code is royal blue scrubs preferred, with team spirit jerseys allowed on Sundays. Success in this role requires strong clinical judgment, compassion for patients in crisis, urgency, and a collaborative team approach.
