ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required
• Float required to SDICU, Telemetry, and Med Surg units
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 4 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Charting system experience required - Epic
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA or ARC), NIHSS
• California RN licensure required
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Daily census ranges from 16 to 20 patients across a 24-bed unit
• Patient diagnoses include CVICU recovery post-cardiac surgery and ECMO, neurological ICU cases such as thrombectomy stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, and post-craniotomy, SICU, and MICU cases including sepsis, GI bleed, and DKA
• Required skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA/acute stroke management, emergency medications, high flow nasal cannula management, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and additional advanced ICU procedures
• Special equipment includes CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, pacemaker, Swan Ganz catheter, EVD, ICP monitoring, NICOM, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy
