ICU Registered Nurse Job in San Francisco, CA

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Training for a new MS-ICU unit planned to open in early 2027
• Orientation at one of two sites (Davies or Mission Bernal campus) during the first week, then assigned to the Van Ness campus
• May be floated to CPMC sister campuses (Mission Bernal, Davies) as needed based on census and staffing demands
• Float may be required to TICU, M/S Tele, and ICU Boarder units
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• On-call: as needed
• Block scheduling type
• Limited/no requested time off accepted
• 24-hour orientation
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must independently manage high-acuity critically ill adult patients including medical, surgical, and trauma critical care patients
• Patient diagnoses include sepsis, septic shock, respiratory failure, ARDS, multi-organ failure, post-operative critical care, GI bleed, DKA, acute renal failure, withdrawal syndromes, neurologic emergencies, and ICU overflow patients
• Required skills include arterial line management, ventilator management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, central line care, CRRT, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, chest tube management, targeted temperature management, and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Additional skills include management of CVA/acute stroke, ICP monitoring, external ventricular drain (EVD), pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, PICC line management, procedural sedation, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Special equipment includes Philips bedside monitors, ventilators, CRRT machines, IV smart pumps, feeding pumps, arterial pressure monitoring equipment, central venous monitoring equipment, bladder scanners, portable procedure ultrasound, and specialty ICU beds
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Valid California RN license required
