ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Weekend coverage required with a varying number of weekend shifts per contract
• Pre-approved time off: one request per contract, with a maximum of 7 days per contract
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Patient ratio experience of 2:1 required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; 3 or more years preferred
• Previous travel experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charting system experience required; Epic system used
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (must be obtained prior to start)
• California RN license required with valid Nursys verification
• Certifications must be AHA or ARC
• 2 references obtained within the last year required
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patient, central line care/management, chronic/acute renal failure management, continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, emergency medications, GI surgery, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, infection prevention, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, 12-lead EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, PICC line management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning (ETT, NT), thermoregulation, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilator management
• Special equipment includes: Arctic Sun, BIS monitor, and NICOM
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, and radiology
