ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Night shift position with 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM schedule
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement with 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• First to float when staffing needs arise
• Float assignments may include ER, Telemetry, or Med-Surg, as well as a sister facility location
• 20-bed ICU unit with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Minimum 2 years of experience required for night shift
• Common patient diagnoses include neuro, radical cancer surgeries, DaVinci procedures, abdominal cases, urology cases, CVA, TPA, respiratory failure, sepsis, glycemic control, and oncology
• Ventilator management with respiratory therapy managing vents and nurses responsible for troubleshooting
• Telemetry system: Philips
• Charting system: Cerner (minimum 2 orientation shifts plus one additional Cerner orientation shift)
• PICC/Midline IV team available
• Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and charge nurse or nurse shift manager available each shift
• One major holiday and two minor holidays required, including Christmas eve considered a minor holiday
• May be placed on call if staffing is reduced
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Valid California nursing license required
