Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-week contract with options to sign for 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Patient ratios of 1:3-5
• Every other weekend required
• Float within service line to meet facility needs
• No on-call required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC charting system required - must have prior EPIC experience
• Must pass Relias EKG exam - interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including acute renal failure, pneumonia, acute pancreatitis, UTI, encephalopathy/cirrhosis, sickle cell pain crisis, chest pain, COPD, asthma acute exacerbation, syncope/collapse, Type I diabetes, and ketoacidosis
• Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), insulin administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, and wound care/wound vac
• Common unit procedures include lab blood draws, POC blood glucose testing, EKGs, peritoneal dialysis, MRI, swallow evaluations, endoscopy/colonoscopy, and 2D echo/venous doppler
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during first week of assignment
