PCU Registered Nurse Job in Show Low, Arizona

Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical Stepdown in Show Low, Arizona. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 2, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week with 36-hour weekly guarantee
• Up to 3 cancellations permitted per 13-week contract
• Every other weekend requirement (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Weekly pay: $2,410.56

Unit Overview

You will work on an 18-bed unit combining Telemetry and PCU capability, all private rooms. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 for Telemetry and 1:3 for PCU/Stepdown patients. A charge nurse is available 24/7 and may carry 0–2 patients. Support staff includes Telemetry technicians, HUCs, and PCTs. CNAs split the floor with up to 9 patients each.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Telemetry monitoring and validation of monitor technician interpretations; documentation every 4 hours minimum
• IV management—no IV team on unit; nurses handle all IV placement and care
• Medication administration including Cardizem, amiodarone, Bumex, Lasix, Integrilin, octreotide, and Protonix
• High-flow oxygen administration for stepdown patients; no ventilator management required
• Common patient diagnoses: AMI, Stroke/TIA, Pneumonia, Renal (dialysis), Atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, SIRS, and Diabetes
• May float to other Medical-Surgical units as needed

Support and Resources

Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapist, and Pharmacy support available around the clock. Charting performed in Allscripts. Orientation includes 2–3 days with a preceptor.

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• 1–2 years Telemetry and Medical-Surgical acute care experience (3 years preferred)
• ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• BSN not required
