ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required as needed, with an attempt to schedule every other weekend
• Holiday shifts required based on unit need
• No on-call or standby requirement
• First to float - may float to Telemetry unit with a 1:3 ratio or full assignment, as well as to Meridian and Boise ICUs
• 1 to 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided depending on experience
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; first-time travelers are welcome
• Must be a strong team player
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 in a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit
• Common diagnoses include Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, GI Bleeds, Strokes, TPA, post codes, Pneumonia, and post-surgical cases
• Required to titrate drips including Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, Vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, and Diltiazem
• Required to read and interpret telemetry strips using Spacelabs monitoring system
• Respiratory therapy equipment includes ventilators, high flow, and BiPAP
• Charge nurse on each shift does not take a patient assignment; Administrative Supervisor and Crisis Nurse on site 24/7
• One CNA per shift available for support
• Hospitalist on site 24/7; Intensivist available via telehealth 24/7
• Respiratory therapists present in the ICU 24/7
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrubs must be clean and professional; any color is acceptable
• BSN not required
