Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Float pool position requiring flexibility across multiple units including MS, MS/Tele, and PCU specialties
• 36 or 48 hour weekly guarantee
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Patient ratios: 1:4-5 PCU; 1:5-6 MS and MS Tele
• Every other weekend required (average 6 weekends per 13-week contract)
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday work required based on assignment period - if one or two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Required charting system: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required skills include cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, blood product administration, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy care/management, central line care/management, PICC line management, peripheral line care/management, arterial line management, chest tubes, PCA, wound care/wound vac, feeding tube care and management, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, renal failure, CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuro stepdown, telemetry monitoring both on-unit and remote, telemetry oncology, isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
