CVOR Technologist Surgical Tech Job in Pittsburgh, PA

Join the surgical team at Southwest – UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore as a CVOR Technologist. You will work 3 days per week on 12-hour rotating shifts, with an estimated 36 hours weekly at $2,585 per week. This 91-day travel assignment begins September 20, 2026.

Your responsibilities include:

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions before procedures
• Assemble and check both sterile and non-sterile equipment to ensure proper operation
• Prepare patients for surgery, including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites
• Assist the surgical team by providing sterile gowns and gloves
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during operations
• Hold retractors or instruments, cut sutures, and sponge or suction the operative site under surgeon supervision
• Count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments throughout procedures to maintain accountability
• Assist in preparation, care, and disposal of surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
• Ensure all medications are labeled and handed to the surgeon according to established protocols
• Apply dressings and assist in transferring patients to recovery following surgery
• Clean and restock the operating room after each procedure
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through continued attention to safety hazards and aseptic technique

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) credential
• Compliance with PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73
