PCU RN Job in Manchester, NH

Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH is seeking an RN for their 10-bed Progressive Care Unit. This is a travel position offering three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) for 13 weeks, starting November 9, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,213.

Unit Overview

You will work in a specialized Progressive Care Unit focused on cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical patients, with occasional medical PCU admissions. The night shift team includes one charge nurse, two RNs, and one LNA with sitter available as needed. Patient ratio is 3–4 patients per RN. Every third weekend is required; there are no on-call responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using telemetry monitoring—a required skill for this role
• Manage chest tubes and demonstrate proficiency in their care
• Assist with and perform procedures including pericardiocentesis with drains, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion
• Administer cardiac drips such as dobutamine, dopamine, and Levophed (experience preferred)
• Float to Progressive Care and telemetry units as needed

Equipment & Technology

You will work with IV pumps, telemetry monitors, Hoyer and stand lifts, bladder scanner, Bair hugger, rapid transfuser, vein finder, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and epicardial and transvenous pacers. The facility uses the Sunrise EMR system. External pacemaker experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license in New Hampshire at time of submission
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring
• Comfort managing chest tubes
