PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• 12-hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM and night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• 2 winter holidays required
• Standby possible if extra staff is available
• Floating required throughout Region I facilities when needed, with an additional $20/hour when floated to a non-primary facility
• Unit has 24 beds with patient ratios of 1:3-4
• Nurse aide support available at a ratio of 1:10
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• PCU experience required
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Dobutamine
• Experience with RT equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen required
• Telemetry monitoring supported by remote monitor techs with RN approval
• Common patient diagnoses include Pneumonia, ARDS, HTN Urgency, Angina, cardiac cath patients, and ETOH Withdrawal
• 24/7 charge nurse and house supervisor support available
• No scrub color or dress code requirements
• On-site free parking available
• Flexibility with scheduling preferred
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
