Med Surg RN Job in Weirton, WV

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on the Med-Surg unit at WVU Weirton Medical Center. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting June 30, 2026, with 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). You'll earn $2,393 per week.

Schedule and Expectations

• Every other weekend required
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Flexible schedule managed by unit manager with consideration for requested time off
• May float to other Med-Surg, Med-Surg Telemetry, or IMC units for lower acuity patients

Clinical Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:6–8 on nights
• Common diagnoses: pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, falls, and weakness
• You will titrate drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix; cardiac drip titration is not required
• Respiratory therapy manages breathing treatments, inhalers, ABGs, and equipment like BiPap, CPAP, and high-flow O2; you monitor only
• Monitor technician on level 5 handles telemetry monitoring and alerts nursing staff as needed
• Patient care techs (1:10–12 ratio) assist with vitals, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, heart monitors, bathing, feeding, toileting, and positioning

Requirements and Setup

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and RN License
• BSN not required
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius; unexpired driver's license copy required at submission
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
