PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirements: 1 major, 1 minor
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4
• 22-bed stepdown unit with fast-paced environment
• Care for patients with heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke
• Required to titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Work with CPAP equipment and troubleshoot as needed
• Charge nurse takes full patient assignment
• May float to ICU if appropriate experience is available
• Pass/fail exam during orientation requiring 90% to pass
• One 12-hour shift of department-specific orientation
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove results in contract termination
• Driver's license required at submission
• Use EPIC charting system
• Handle many admits and discharges daily
