Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts, 3x12s, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs or between like units and sister facilities
• 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• SC license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Telemetry competency required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Charting system: Epic
• Free parking on site
• Block scheduling can be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Serves adult and geriatric patient populations
• Common patient diagnoses include Diabetes, HTN, CAD, Seizure, CVA, TIA, and CRD
• Key skills include cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, heparin protocols, central line and PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and pre/post cardiac cath procedures
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
