ED - Emergency Room

Opportunity:

RN - ED

Job Details:

• Work in a Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) with 11 patient beds
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6, acuity based
• 48 hours per week guaranteed
• Every other weekend required
• Possibility of floating to main ED
• PCTs scheduled mid-shift; RNs and PCTs responsible for running point of care (POC) labs
• RNs responsible for setup and adjustment of respiratory equipment, including BiPAP and ventilator equipment, with phone support available from main hospital
• Equipment includes cardiac/vital sign monitors in all patient rooms, CT, X-ray, and POC lab
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Perform procedures including IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube insertion, and assist providers with common ED procedures
• Must be experienced ED RN comfortable with commonly seen ED chief complaints and care of trauma patients
• Must adhere to patient experience requirements: AIDET, narration of care, and SBAR for department admissions and transfer handoffs
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Must have a positive, flexible, team-oriented, and patient-centered personality
• Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required uniform: Royal Blue Scrubs
