ED Registered Nurse Job in Augusta, GA

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This is a 98-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026, on a 4x12 days schedule at $2,246.40 per week.

Role Overview

You will work in a 59-bed, non-trauma emergency department averaging 165–175 patients daily. This is a high-acuity, high-volume setting serving adolescent through geriatric populations. You'll maintain a 1:4 patient ratio and are expected to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified. The facility is stroke and STEMI certified with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social work, and pharmacy.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience; travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience (required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• Preferred: SANE and TNCC certifications
• Preferred: previous charge experience and community hospital background

Clinical Skills

You will manage dysrhythmias, provide BiPAP/CPAP support, administer blood products, care for ventilated patients, manage central lines and chest tubes, administer procedural sedation, monitor continuous IV sedation and vasopressors, interpret ABGs, perform triage and intubation, obtain 12-lead ECGs, and support psychiatric and behavioral health patients. The unit uses Pyxis medication dispensing and requires navy blue scrubs.

Time Off and Holiday Expectations

You may request up to 7 days of time off per contract, finalized at submission. Spring Break (April 4–12) is a blackout period. Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within your assignment, you work all; if three or more fall within the assignment, you work at least two. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.

Additional Information

Floating within the facility and scope of practice is rare but may occur. A 36 or 48-hour weekly guarantee applies. First-time travelers are not accepted for this role.
