PCU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is hiring a registered nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 3x12 night shift position with a duration of 89 days, starting September 14, 2026. You will earn $2,582.10 per week.

In this role, you will provide direct patient care across the Progressive Care Unit, managing patient assessments, care planning, and coordination with the multidisciplinary team. Your key responsibilities include:

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care according to organizational policies and professional practice standards
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural needs
• Review patient histories, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the care team, including discharge planning
• Delegate and supervise the work of licensed nurses and healthcare personnel as appropriate
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising plans as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and timely in patient records
• Participate in unit and facility shared leadership initiatives and quality improvement projects
• Precept and mentor staff, students, and other personnel

Requirements:

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona or compact RN licensure
• BLS certification required
• Minimum one year experience in an acute care hospital setting, with specialty area experience within the past 12 months
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently; may lift up to 75 pounds
• Willingness to work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and float assignments per department guidelines
• Standard precautions required due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids
