Operating Room RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. You will work 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week with 36 guaranteed hours weekly. This 91-day travel assignment begins November 23, 2026, and offers $2,505 per week.

Role Expectations

• Circulate in complex surgical cases; scrubbing is optional
• Float within your skill set across 17 operating rooms serving 20–28 patients daily
• Care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients in a 1:1 ratio
• Manage on-call responsibilities after your shift until 6:30 AM, including weekends, with a 45-minute response time
• Expect 5–6 call shifts per 6-week period, including one 12-hour weekday call shift and weekend Saturday/Sunday shifts
• Receive up to 8 hours of rest if called after midnight before potential recall
• Every other weekend required

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 2 years operating room nursing experience
• Extensive proficiency in Hepatobiliary, Whipple, and Abdominal Organ Transplant procedures
• Advanced knowledge of complex Spine, ENT, Neuro, and intra-abdominal transplant work
• Hands-on experience with ALIF, Anterior Cervical Fusion, Craniotomy, Kyphoplasty, Laminectomy/Discectomy, Laryngectomy, Lumbar Fusion, Organ Donation, Radical Neck Dissection, Tonsillectomy/Adenoidectomy, Tracheostomy, Whipple, and XLIF procedures
• Familiarity with robotic surgery systems and neuro/spine/ENT specialized equipment
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications

First-Time Travelers

First-time travelers are accepted only if you have experience in Neuro, Spine, or ENT specialties.

The facility provides scrubs. You will work alongside a skilled team managing high-acuity Level 1 Trauma, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Spine, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery, Transplant, and ENT procedures.
