Opportunity:

RN - Acute Care Med Surg

Job Details:

• 26-week contracts only
• Full-time position requiring 36 hours per week plus 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks
• Day and night variable shifts
• Provide high quality, compassionate nursing care to patients and families across adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions
• Assess patient needs, develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and evaluate patient progress throughout the episode of care
• Administer medications and apply clinical interventions as appropriate
• Provide patient and family education to support self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to promote health and healing
• Promote patient comfort and provide emotional support within a healing environment
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to set goals and monitor patient progress, adjusting plans based on patient response or change in condition
• Advocate for patient health, safety, and rights while encouraging mutual trust and cooperation among team members
• Participate in quality improvement activities and engage in self-evaluation to identify areas for professional development
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Med/Surg environment required
• Required certifications and licensure: NYS RN Licensure, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
