PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - Observation Unit Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• May be expected to work holidays as scheduled
• Acute care setting with 31-bed unit split between Stepdown and Floor
• Stepdown nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3; Floor nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Nurse aide support available with 3-4 aides for 31 patients
• Charge Nurse available on each shift with House Supervisor in-house 24/7
• Respiratory Therapy available in-house 24/7; no ventilators on this unit
• Telemetry available on unit with tele techs; RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must be able to titrate drips in Stepdown and Heparin drips on the Floor
• Common diagnoses include MedSurg, Cardiac, IDDM, COPD, Trauma, Orthopedic, ENT, Urology, and pain management
• Charge Nurse opportunities available
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs
