PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Day shift position working 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Float pool position rotating across various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• May be required to float to Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby during staffing needs
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must have PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with pediatric patients
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience considered
• Epic charting system experience required
• Travel experience required
• BSN preferred
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS
• Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with certification pending)
• Must adhere to float pool policy
• Key skills include: arterial line management, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, ECMO, CRRT, central line care, pediatric dosage calculations, IV vasopressors, care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy care, and wound assessment/care
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2 (ICU) or 1:3 (ICN), Acute Pediatrics 1:4-5, Peds ED variable
