Job Details:

• Work on a 34-bed Adult Med Surg unit located on the 4th floor
• Day shift staffing includes 1 Charge nurse, 6-7 RNs, 3 CNAs, and 1 HUC
• Night shift staffing includes 1 Charge nurse, 5-7 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1 HUC
• Patient ratios are 1:4-6 on day shift and 1:5-7 on night shift
• Perform typical procedures including IV fluids, tube feeds, PEG feedings, and IV antibiotics
• Must have telemetry rhythm capabilities, critical thinking, and strong time management skills
• Must be able to assess med surg level patients and alert Charge RN, Manager, Rapid Response, or Provider when acuity level changes
• ACLS certification preferred
• Required certification: BLS
• EMR system used is Cerner
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Must attend huddles at 6:50 AM for day shift or 6:50 PM for night shift
• Must clock out and in for meal breaks; clock in no earlier than 6:38 AM or 6:38 PM depending on shift
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per pay period required
• Floating may be required to other med surg units and occasionally to the holding pod of the ED
• Team-oriented mindset required with willingness to assist CNAs and fellow nurses
