PCU Float RN Job in Leonardtown, MD

MedStar Saint Marys Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float position in Leonardtown, MD. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 23, 2026, with a weekly pay of $1,979.

Position Overview

You will work a 3x12 night shift schedule, with variable weekends and holidays as determined by hospital needs. As a float RN, you will be assigned to cover the Intensive Monitoring Care (IMC) unit, Medical-Surgical unit, and Telemetry unit, with occasional coverage for medicine/IMC level boarders in the ED and ICU. Patient ratios are 1:4 in IMC and 1:5–6 on Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units.

Unit Details

• IMC: 15 beds
• Medical-Surgical: 44 beds
• Telemetry: 34 beds

The clinician reports to the staffing office for float assignments each shift.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in IMC, PCU, or Medical-Surgical float pool
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms

Clinical Skills Required

You must be proficient in PCU/Stepdown, Telemetry monitoring, ER holding, and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry care. Additional skills include accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, cardiac drip management, vasoactive drip management, pacemaker management, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, thrombolytic agent administration, and wound care including wound vac management.
