Job Details:

• PM shift schedule with every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required - staff must work one summer and one winter holiday
• Staff are assigned to groups for self-scheduling, with groups rotated every scheduling period (weekly)
• Contract length options available from 13 to 26 weeks
• Position may require floating to other units to cover staffing needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates within 50 miles of facility are not accepted
• Required certification: BLS
• Charting system: Meditech (preferred experience)
• Community hospital experience preferred
• 24 orientation hours required
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Unit is a 32-bed Medical Innovation Unit focused on new technologies and innovative nursing practice
• Early adoption of new technology, equipment, and nursing practice models expected
• Hercules beds are used on this unit
• Common patient diagnoses include cellulitis, pneumonia, dementia, renal failure, GI bleed, sepsis, COPD, wound care, and more
• Required skills include blood product administration, IV management, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, wound care, heparin and insulin protocols, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
