PCU RN Job in El Paso, TX

Join Del Sol Medical Center El Paso as a Registered Nurse on our 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 13-week night shift contract. You'll work 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 3x12 schedule with two weekends required per pay period. This is a no on-call position offering hands-on critical care experience in a structured team environment.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 on the 3rd floor unit
• Care for post-PACU cardiac catheterization patients, including those recovering from left and right heart catheterizations, pacemaker placements, Watchman procedures, and ablations
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor patients using GE remote telemetry equipment
• Document all patient care in the Meditech EMR system
• Attend shift huddle at the nurse's station (6:45 PM start)
• Conduct bedside shift reports and maintain patient communication boards during BSSR

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation

Preferred Experience:

• Critical care background
• Leadership or charge nurse experience
• Monitor tech experience

Facility Information:

You'll work in a professional environment where dress code expectations include Galaxy blue scrubs for nurses. Unacceptable attire includes sweaters or jackets with hoods, full pull-over sweaters, fanny packs, and Crocs shoes.

Compensation and Assignment Details:

This 91-day assignment begins October 26, 2026, with weekly pay of $1,839.60. You'll be part of a dedicated PCU team providing progressive care to patients transitioning from critical to intermediate care levels.
