PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wichita Falls, TX

United Regional is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Wichita Falls, TX. This 91-day travel assignment offers an excellent opportunity to expand your clinical experience in a dynamic acute-care setting.

Position Details

• Shift: 4x12 nights
• Schedule: 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee; 36/48-hour alternating schedule or straight 48 hours weekly may be considered
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: November 16, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,782

Role & Responsibilities

You will float between Med Surg and PCU units, with the position primarily supporting Med Surg. Weekend shifts are required as needed and may include most weekends. Patient ratios are 1:5 on day shift and 1:6 on night shift. You will care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including MS/PCU overflow, CVA, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, renal failure, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; travel experience strongly preferred
• Epic charting system experience strongly preferred and required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Proficiency with cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, tracheostomy care and management, wound care and wound vac, PICC line management, thrombolytic agents, pacemaker management, epidural analgesia, chest tube management, and rapid response and code teams

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Schedule & Time Off

Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved. One pre-approved time off request is allowed. Time off requests spanning all holidays will not be accepted.

Interdisciplinary Support

You will collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy to provide comprehensive patient care.
