PCU RN Job in San Antonio, TX

Join Methodist Hospital in San Antonio as a Registered Nurse on our 29-bed Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit. This is a 13-week contract position offering day shifts (7 AM to 7 PM) on a three-days-per-week schedule, with a weekly pay rate of $1,708.20.

About the Role

You will care for patients with cardiac and progressive care needs, managing patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5. Your responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, continuous pulse oximetry, blood transfusions, IV starts, midline and central line removals, and respiratory and cardiac assessments. You will also care for a high fall risk patient population and may float to med/surg, telemetry, PCU, and ED holds as needed.

Unit Structure

Day shift staffing includes one charge nurse, two patient care technicians, one unit coordinator, and seven RNs. Night shift includes one charge nurse, two patient care technicians, and seven RNs. Weekend availability is required.

Clinical Environment

The unit uses Meditech as the electronic medical record system. You will work with telemetry monitoring and continuous pulse oximetry equipment to deliver evidence-based cardiac and progressive care.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Telemetry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• NIH Stroke preparation
• PALS certification
• ICU experience
• Telemetry experience
• PCU experience

Additional Information
