ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour rotating night and day shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (nights) and 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM (days)
• Weekend rotation and on-call required
• True float position - will float 100% of the time across 3 ED campuses: CPMC Van Ness, CPMC Mission Bernal, and CPMC Davies
• Campuses are approximately 15 minutes apart with shuttle transport available between locations
• Floating mid-shift is rare; may be scheduled at a different campus for each shift
• Travelers will be notified 2 hours prior to shift start time of assigned reporting location
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Continual Reassessment
• Serve as a patient advocate and coordinate care while promoting safety and clinical quality
• Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• 3 years of emergency room nursing experience required
• Travel experience required
• California RN licensure required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Key clinical skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, care of ventilated patients, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, triage, management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
