Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment on the Medical-Surgical unit. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three days per week, with a guaranteed 48 hours of billable time weekly. This position requires every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.

Unit Details:

• Float assignment to all inpatient units as needed
• Primary work on MAP Unit (Medical and Pediatrics—travelers do not care for pediatric patients)
• Typical patient ratios: 1:6-7 on nights
• Contract includes 36 hours of low census unbillable time, available in increments as needed

Patient Population:

You will care for patients with respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious disease processes, and acute alcohol withdrawal.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred
