Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with an ASAP start date
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; unit typically low censuses in 4-hour increments and may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift (not considered on-call)
• Work in a fast-paced 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit providing pre and post-surgical care for adult and geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 or 1:5 on days/evenings, 1:5 to 1:7 on nights
• Unit averages 10-15 admissions per day with 90-95% occupancy during the week and average length of stay of 2-3 days
• Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize patient care based on acuity, and work as part of a team
• Required certifications: WI RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience required with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Equipment used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Any color scrubs permitted
