RN - Tele Neuro

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• First to float, with possibility of floating to a sister facility
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required (within the past 6 months)
• Unit: D4 Neuro - 28 bed unit
• Patient ratios: 1:3-4
• Charge Nurse available with no patient assignment; Clinical Supervisor also present in a management role
• PCTs available at a ratio of 1 per every 16 patients
• Centralized telemetry - RNs must be able to interpret EKGs
• Common diagnoses include neuro post-surgical, post-craniotomy, spine, and CVAs post TPA
• No ICP monitoring or ventilator management required
• Hospitalist rounds during the day and on call at night
• Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy
• 2-day floor-specific orientation
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer via RELIAS (maximum 2 attempts)
• Pass/Fail exam on day 1 of orientation with emphasis on sterile field techniques
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Acute care setting
