PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule includes weekdays and every other weekend required
• Float within scope may be required if necessary
• 36 hours guaranteed per week
• 1:3 patient ratio
• 15-bed Intermediate Care/PCU unit providing Priority 2 transfers from the ICU requiring intermediate level care
• Patient population includes adult and pediatric surgical and vascular clients requiring close cardiac monitoring
• Post TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) designated unit
• Post CEA and post femoral popliteal bypass patient population
• New monitoring system with invasive monitoring capability including arterial pressures and central venous pressures
• Required skills: Cardiac telemetry/telemetry experience, invasive line monitoring, transvenous pacemaker/chest tubes, critical medication administration, respiratory ventilation management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
• Blocked schedule requests cannot be guaranteed
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Royal Blue/White
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA); PALS preferred but not required
• WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
