RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Available as 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Must be willing to float within service line to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Minimum 5 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Guaranteed hours provided
• Must pass Relias EKG exam - interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS, BSN, TNCC
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required skills include: Med/Surg, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, Starting IVs, Insulin, PCA, Spinal Cord Injuries, Traumatic Brain Injury, Ortho Trauma, Peripheral Nerve Block Catheters, Total Joint Replacements, Surgical Drains, Chest Tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oral Suctioning, Oxygen Face Masks, Portable Oxygen Tank, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Level 1 Trauma Experience
• Patient diagnoses come from ED, OR, or ICU
• Services on unit include: Geriatric Trauma (55+ with trauma), Trauma (abuse/violence victims, MVA, MVC, falls), and Acute Care Surgery (appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, TBI)
• Special equipment includes: lifts, restraints, wound vacs, traction, and external fixators
• Patients served include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Unit census of 50-55 patients daily across 63 beds
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
• Previous charge experience preferred
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
