PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 13-week contract
• 12-hour variable shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM or 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float requirements include all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• Low census eligible in hour increments, typically in 4-hour increments; traveler may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry focus
• Patient population includes stable and weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Manage primary patients and insulin drips
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required; stepdown, intermediate, or PCU experience required
• ICU experience preferred; Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Ventilator/trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Scrub color: any color
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, able to manage independently, complete tasks in a timely manner, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
