PCU Registered Nurse Job in Sioux City, IA

UnityPoint – St. Luke's Downtown in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a temporary position running for 91 days, starting November 9, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12 hour day shifts
• Weekly pay: $2,388
• Every other weekend and holiday schedule required
• Traveler must work 2 of 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day
• No on-call responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributing professional and clinical knowledge and skills in patient care provision and management
• Patient ratios of 1:4, which may go up to 1:5
• Float required to all inpatient areas and the emergency department
• May float within the same discipline across local campuses
• Patient types include CHF, ablation, angiogram, TCAR, EVAR, DKA, stroke, pacemaker, and sepsis cases
• EMR system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Requirements

• Active Iowa nursing license or compact nursing license
• 1+ years of PCU experience
• First-time traveler accepted
• ACLS (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates also accepted)
• BLS (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates also accepted)
• NIHSS certification
• PCU-specific skills checklist required
• Mandatory reporter certification required
• 1 supervisory reference form completed within the last two years
• Driver's license required
• Must be located at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license
