PCU Registered Nurse Job in Sioux City, IA

UnityPoint - St. Luke's Downtown is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a temporary basis. You will work the night shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each week, on an every-other-weekend schedule with no on-call responsibilities.

Role Overview

You will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team, using your professional and clinical knowledge to provide and manage patient care. Your patient ratio will be 1:4, with the possibility of 1:5 depending on census. Floating to all inpatient areas and the emergency department is required, and you may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses. The facility uses the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Patient Population

You will care for patients with a variety of conditions, including:

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Cardiac procedures (Ablation, Angiogram, Pacemaker)
• Vascular procedures (TCAR, EVAR)
• Acute conditions (DKA, Stroke, Sepsis)

Requirements

You must hold an active Iowa nursing license or compact nursing license verified through Nursys. The following certifications are required:

• ACLS (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates accepted)
• BLS (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates accepted)
• NIHSS Certification

You will need to complete a PCU-specific skills checklist within one year of your application start date. One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years is required. A valid driver's license is mandatory, and you must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on your driver's license address.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience is required. First-time travelers are accepted.

Assignment Details

This is a 91-day temporary assignment beginning October 26, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,413.
