PCU Registered Nurse Job in Sioux City, IA

UnityPoint - St. Luke's Downtown in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a temporary position with a 91-day duration, starting October 12, 2026.

Position Details:

• Shift: 3x12 nights (every other weekend schedule required)
• Patient ratio: 1:4 (may go to 1:5)
• Weekly pay: $2,413
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR system: EPIC

Responsibilities:

• Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributing professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care
• Care for patients with conditions including CHF, ablation, angiogram, TCAR, EVAR, DKA, stroke, pacemaker, and sepsis
• Float to ED and all inpatient areas as needed
• May float within the same discipline across local campuses

Requirements:

• 2+ years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Active Iowa or compact nursing license with Nursys verification
• ACLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• NIHSS certification
• PCU-specific skills checklist completion
• One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be located at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
