Med Surg RN Job in Altoona, PA

Join West Central — UPMC Altoona as a Med Surg RN on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week (approximately 36 hours weekly) and earn $2,521 per week.

Your Role

You will provide direct nursing care to a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. Your responsibilities include:

• Formulating daily goals and individualized plans of care using a holistic approach
• Applying the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment
• Demonstrating critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual patient care needs
• Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to achieve desired patient outcomes
• Actively participating in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts
• Utilizing research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care
• Providing detailed and appropriate patient and family education to guide them through their episode of care
• Serving as a highly engaged and full partner on the care team, adapting to change and demonstrating flexibility

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BLS certification
• PA Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 certifications
• BSN preferred
