Med Surg RN Job in Altoona, PA

Join West Central – UPMC Altoona as a Med Surg RN on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating schedules, at $2,413 weekly. Assignment begins August 3, 2026.

Your Role

You'll manage and provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. Your responsibilities include:

• Formulating daily goals and plans of care for patients that consider individual needs in a holistic manner
• Applying the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment
• Demonstrating critical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues for patient care
• Actively participating in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts
• Utilizing research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care
• Providing detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to guide them through episodes of care and transitions
• Collaborating with physicians and other health care providers to achieve desired patient outcomes

Requirements

• RN license required; BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 certifications and licenses
