Med Surg RN Job in Altoona, PA

Join West Central – UPMC Altoona as a Registered Nurse in our Med Surg unit. You will deliver direct patient care as a core member of the care delivery team, working 3 days per week on 12-hour shifts (approximately 36 hours weekly). This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,658.

Your Role:

• Provide direct patient care and manage patient care activities for assigned patient populations
• Develop individualized plans of care using a holistic approach and the nursing process
• Demonstrate critical thinking to identify clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families
• Communicate effectively and use independent judgment to support patient and family needs
• Provide detailed teaching to guide patients through their episode of care and transitions
• Actively participate in quality improvement efforts and utilize evidence-based practice
• Adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility as a full partner on the care team

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BLS certification
• Pennsylvania Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 certifications
• BSN preferred
