Job Details:

• Estimated 8 hours of work per week across 2 days per week
• Independently perform computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration
• Perform a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic CT purposes
• Utilize complex imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data
• Demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture and proper use of power injector according to department and manufacturer protocols
• Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and department policy, assessing patients for potential risk factors prior to contrast media administration
• Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and help alleviate concerns while maintaining dignity and respect
• Identify all patients using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocol when performing procedures
• Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition
• Document patient history in electronic records as required
• Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked, networked for archiving and interpretation, and charges are accurately entered
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program required
• CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of primary registry acquisition or date of hire
• Required certifications and licenses: ARRT Certificate, Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC), Basic Life Support (BLS), PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, PA Act 73
