Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Neuro

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 36 or 48 hours per week
• Contract length of 13-26 weeks accepted
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with a daily census of 36 patients
• 12-16 weekend shifts required per contract; unit is flexible and willing to discuss with traveler
• Float requirement within or near the facility
• Up to 7 days of requested time off; no RTO during first week of contract
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO on holidays
• 2 orientation shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation
• Scrubs color: Navy
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Neuro experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS; preferred certifications: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with skills including CVA management, heparin, insulin protocols, telemetry, IV management, wound care, pre/post neurosurgery, and isolation precautions
• Treats adult patient population with neuro surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses
• Unit systems include Pyxis, SBAR, and Epic
• Scheduling managed by unit manager; blocked scheduling may be accommodated upon request
• Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
