Med Surg RN Job in Burlington, NC

Cone Health - Alamance Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their 32-bed Medical Surgical unit with orthopedic focus in Burlington, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No call required
• Weekly pay: $2,021.76

Role Details

You will provide care to adult and geriatric orthopedic and medical surgical patients. Your typical patient ratio is 5–6 patients. You will float to other units as needed and assume charge RN shifts as needed. The unit serves high-volume surgical procedures, inpatient stays, and 24-hour observation medical patients, with moderate volume neck and back surgery patients and lower volume total joint replacements, fracture repairs, shoulder repairs, and kyphoplasties. You may occasionally care for ED patients with high acuity.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Charge RN experience
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Total joint replacement care
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Blood product administration and IV management
• Phlebotomy
• EPIC charting system experience
• BLS certification required
• Must pass compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)

Unit Resources

The unit includes telemetry monitoring capabilities, an on-unit physical therapy gym for patient rehabilitation, and specialized equipment including CPMs, Buck's Traction, and neck and back braces.
