Opportunity:

RN - SICU

Job Details:

• 13-week contract assignment in a fast-paced 15-bed Surgical/Trauma ICU at a level 1 facility
• Night shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours available per week
• Every other weekend required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Maximum 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with adjustments based on patient acuity
• Care for surgical and trauma adult critical care patients including post-operative and multisystem traumatic injury patients
• Must float within scope of practice as needed per hospital policy
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted)
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patient, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, high flow nasal cannula, ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, PICC line management, titration of vasoactive drips, TPN/Lipids, and ventilator management
• Special equipment used includes: Rapid Infuser, CRRT, Camino, NICOM, and blood warmer
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy
