Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adult acute care patients including those with elective back surgeries, trauma, prostate cancer, gallbladder conditions, and cellulitis
• Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Must be proficient in Med/Surg care with experience using Rapid Response/Code teams
• Required skills include peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and isolation precautions
• May be required to work as charge nurse and to precept
• Required to float within skillset
• Epic charting experience is required - hard stop requirement, candidates without Epic experience will not be accepted
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS
• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
