Med Surg RN Job in Kansas City, MO

You will work as a travel RN on a 20-bed Transplant Nephrology unit at Research Medical Center MO. This is a 91-day assignment starting August 24, 2026, with a 3x12 night shift schedule (7 PM to 7 AM).

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical patients with nephrology and kidney transplant needs
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6
• Perform medication administration, assessments, and post-operative care
• Coordinate with off-unit dialysis services
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Collaborate with unit staff including secretaries, PCTs, and the unit educator
• Work with a virtual nurse who handles patient admissions, allowing you to focus on direct care

Unit Culture and Schedule

• 3 weekend shifts per month required
• No on-call requirements
• Agency and contract nurses float first per unit floating policy
• Supportive environment with dedicated unit educator

Required Qualifications

• RN license with ADN required
• Current BLS certification
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing, nephrology, kidney transplants, renal care, and dialysis

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs required; black scrub pants permitted

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,933 for this 91-day travel assignment.
