Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems including cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary conditions
• Accountable for the coordination of direct patient care and patient education
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other Saturday required; off every Sunday
• Self-scheduling
• 24-hour orientation
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility; local candidates not accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: Meditech (preferred experience)
• Scrub color: Black or Caribbean blue
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care/management, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, management of vasoactive and cardiac drips (no titration), titration of insulin drips, blood product administration, chest tube management, tracheostomy care/management, pre/post cardiac catheterization care, post cardiac angiogram, post MI care, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, neuro stepdown, CVA care, wound care/wound vac, PCA management, feeding tube care and management, accessing/managing ports, peripheral line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, oxygen administration, isolation precautions/PPE, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment includes: Sara Steady, Tenor, Maxi Move, Air Taps, bladder scanner, and vein finder
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more
