Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Cardiothoracic surgery Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position
• Care for adult and geriatric patients including cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
• Focus on heart failure and advanced treatments including left ventricular assist devices, total artificial hearts, heart transplants, and inotrope therapies
• Work with high-risk populations with multiple comorbidities across all surgical services
• Unit has 35 beds and 31 rooms with a daily census of 35 patients
• Self-scheduling unit
• 4-6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Float within scope as needed
• No on-call required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Level 1 hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Required skills: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Natural nail policy enforced
• Virginia or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal
