Telemetry RN Job in Elmira, NY

Join Arnot Ogden Medical Center as a Registered Nurse on our 34-bed Telemetry unit. You will work in a high-acuity, fast-paced medical-surgical environment specializing in acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. This role offers you the opportunity to develop specialized skills in stroke care and cardiac monitoring while providing direct patient care to a diverse population.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale evaluations
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, responding to changes in real time
• Ensure compliance with stroke core measures including dysphagia screening, patient education, and individualized care plans
• Administer medications using BCMA standards with emphasis on safety and accuracy
• Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team including providers, therapy services, and case management
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover environment
• Maintain focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and overall patient safety
• Work collaboratively using primary and team nursing models

Position Details:

You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week for a 90-day assignment beginning September 20, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,465. This is an excellent opportunity to build expertise in stroke and telemetry nursing within a structured healthcare setting.

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Ability to read and interpret basic rhythm strips prior to arrival at the facility
